Slow sounds

My sounds files all sound like someone is playing a record at an extremely
slow speed (i.e. all the voices are much deeper than they should be).

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I just installed Windows XP updates, so I'm not sure if that's to blam or
what, but it's dreadful-sounding.

I also am trapped in a chipmonks concert. I'm using Media Player 10 but I
tried Musicmatch Jukebox and QCD and got the same thing. Only started
happening after I ran Windows updates. If anyone has any ideas about how to
fix this I's love to hear them. At normal speed, please....
