For some unknown reason for the last week my computer has becomed very slow
and sluggished only when i do the following 1) From Welcome Screen when i
click on my icon, slow and sluggish going to the desktop. 2) When the
computer has been idle it goes to the screen saver mode and when i move the
mouse to go back to the Welcome screen slow and sluggish before i can choose
my icon. 3) Turning off the computer from the start icon slow and sluggish
turning off. When one of these commands is executed it takes anywhere from 2
to 3 minutes sometimes more to finish the task, when it use to be less than
35 seconds . Besides this problem which is very bothersome the computer works
perfectly. I could not find a solution to fix the problem. So for this
reason I erased and formatted the drive and loaded a fresh copy of windows
and all of my software that i have been using for quite some time. And guess
what I Still Have The Problem. Can someone please help me find a solution for
this bothersome problem

What is your anti-virus programme? Is it scheduled to do a full scan at
the time you are starting your computer?

How much RAM memory?

Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

What errors appear in Event Viewer?

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in the
System and Application logs in Event Viewer relating to the last boot in
normal mode . No Information Reports or Duplicates please. Indicate
which also appear in a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.
