I am using Windows XP with Broadband 2GB speed on a desk top computer with
2.4 GB processor and 1 GB of RAM. I can download any site I find very swiftly
except recently two sites take about an hour to appear. One is the
Computeractive magazine site and the other is the Geneology site for the
family tree. I cannot find any reason why only these two sites are so
effected. Any help would be very much appreciated please. Charlie

As it's just those two sites I'd be inclined to believe that the trouble
was, actually, with those two sites. You could try opening them with an
alternative browser. I'd give the newest Netscape a try, it's not too bad
actually - and yes that amazed me.

agree. do you have the same problem at all times of the day and
night? their servers may be woefully undersized making them unable to
keep up with demad.

Thank you both for your replies. I have tried these sites at day and night
but the result is the same. When I do get the sites to open and carefully
search for what I want the site goes back to just the headings and it takes
for ever to open again.Charlie

Yeah that's a site issue and not an IE issue. Contact the webmaster at the
site and see if they're doing anything like trying to load bulky improperly
configured ActiveX or scripts perhaps? That's the only other option that I
can think of other than just finding alternative sites to visit.
