I have just upgraded our network from an Novell 4.11 box to a completely new
server running Win2000. All clients are Win98SE boxes.
The problem is that file activity on clients is painfully slow. For
instance if I go into explorer and delete a file it takes, not seconds, but
minutes to give you control back. This affects new and old clients alike
so. Disconnecting from the network fixes the problem, but is of no help.
There is one Win2000 Server running DNS and DHCP however IP addresses have
been manually configured since there are only a dozen machines.
Any help would be appreciated. I posted several days ago in the General
group and have and no replies. Please don't associate this with my second
post since it is a separate issue on a separate network
