Slow Report Design Mode

Using Microsoft Access 2007 and Windows 7, I have this issue when I am
working with designing a report. The report I open in design mode is
very slow to load. The same slow issue occurs when I go to close and
save the report design too. This same anomaly occurs with form design
as well. When I try to open a form in design mode, it too takes
forever; and again it occurs when I close. Anyone got any clues as to
why this is happening?

I took and disabled all the label checking in the options and that did
help, but there has to be something that is causing this dreadfully
painful slowness.

What if you open a table in datasheet view? Is that slow, too?

What if you open a table in datasheet view and then try opening a
form or report in design view?

Basically, I'm suspecting the LDB creation problem, but I'm also
assuming your app is split, and the data is accessed from a back end
data file via linked tables.
