I'm trying to get a poweroint file to play on my website.
It eventually loads and plays, but it takes about 5 min
to load. I have a fast computer and cable connection. The
file is about 15 megs.I have selected "Rely on VML for
displaying graphics in browsers check box". Any ideas how
I can get it to load faster would be appreciated.

How large are your graphic files? Even on cable modem, they could be the cause
of the slowness. could you provide us with a link?

Thanks for the reply Micheal. I'm not very familiar with
Powerpoint, there are no photos or externally linked
files. May have all been created in PP. Just the one PP
file. I have PP 2000 but not sure which version the show
was created in. The link is

Thanks for the link.

1. If your not publishing to the web, then using the "Rely on VML" for viewing
in browser means nothing for your presentation. Also the viewer if I'm not
mistaken has to have VML installed.

2. You just uploaded your presentation, which means it has to be downloaded to
be viewed. You should provide a link to the PowerPoint viewer, so that people
visiting your site can download and install as required.

3. Your presentation is so large, because the majority of the images in the file
are over 1mb, some as high as 4mb You might want to look at this tutorial on
reducing the size of your images.
http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com/powerpointgraphics.htm Which in the end
will reduce the size of your PowerPoint presentation, making downloads quicker.

Bob,
15 M to 14.7 M isn't a very large decrease. I wonder, do you have fast saves
turned on? There are other things like this that you can check as well. See
the following PPT FAQ entries:
Do this before using PowerPoint seriously
