I have a small network with a dsl connection. One work station running
win 2000 pro is very slow with and type of connection whether it is
local or internet. Why is this? Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Try connecting to DSLReports.com do the Tests\Speed Tests
between different machines and determine if the machine is
really slower.

Thank you for the quick reply! I cannot connect to dslreports. All
other work stations have no problem with connecting. I have a 98 box
and a mac also running with no problem. Just the 2000 box. I have
tried reinstalling the NIC and updated the drivers, no luck. I thought
that maybe there was a conflict but I have read that with 2000 with acpi
the IRQs are suppose to be shared and you cannot change them. With
the acpi i have 7 devices running on irq9. I think this is strange but
microsoft says that it is not. Any ideas?

My system is same way. Try hard selecting your NIC speed to 10 mBs. I do
this and my speed comes back but only to the 10 mbs level (which is still
way faster than it was at 100mbs). I read in other posts that sp3 might be
the cause. Am going to try that next.
