Hi all,
We recently migrated from Windows NT to Windows 2000
server with active directory. Instead of moving the
users, etc. we just re-created them in a new domain in the
new physical machine and moved the users data over to the
new machine.
The problem we're having is that there is a 10-15 second
delay when connecting to shares on the new machine. It's
a speedy new Dell with Xeon proc's and is not heavily
utilized. The problem is not old non-working shares on
users machines that are not able to connect. We have
setup a new users.bat file that is connecting new mappings
for everyone.
After waiting 10-15 seconds for machines to connect to the
mapped drives, connections are quick immedately
following. If you wait awhile however they are slow upon
the initial connection.
This problem is affecting people opening and saving
documents from their applications etc.
Any hints on where to start would be greatly appreciated!
