I have VS 2005. It works very slow.I have centrino 1,5 processor, 512 MB ram
and hdd 4200 rpm. What I need to change or upgrade, ram or hdd or processor?

It could be a combination of all of them to be honest, as its not the most
exciting spec about. It can be a hungry beast but I would suggest your hard
disk is quite slow. You might be able to compensate by adding RAM as it
will lighten the load a little for you, but it could be that your PC has a
slow bus speed coupled with a relatively slow hard drive and such a low
amount of RAM you may not be able to improve it easily. Your machine is
within spec, it may be just that you have more expectations than your
machine is showing you.

As a suggestion, if your only working on asp.net development work try one
the express products. Their footprint seems to be very light and it flies
along on some low spec PC's I've installed int into.

Change VS.

If you dont have to use vs2005, you should go for vs2003. My machine is new,
with Centrino 2,0 ghz, 2 gb ram. But it is still unbelievable slow using
vs2005.

You can't be serious...

Well, why not? I got the same problems, with a much faster computer.
Installing some "fixes" i got from Microsoft didnt help. Installing SP1
didnt help. Working with VS2003 on my previous computer was way much faster
than working with VS2005. If I could go back, I would.

???

Because that would mean you can't take advange of all the new and improved
features!!! Things move on - technology evolves. What will you do when
VS.NET 2003 is no longer supported...?
