Slow MS Image and Fax viewer

Hi

I have an XP SP2 workstations that is very slow to view an image with
Windows Image and Fax viewer. It takes a very long time +/- 30 seconds
to view the files. It does say "generating preview" and then displays
the image. This is even on very small graphic files 60k. The files are
on a network share. There are other workstations that access the same
files over the LAN with no problem.

Can you preview images that are on your local hard drive without delay?
If so, it would seem to indicate that the network is slow.
