Evenin' all,

haven't tried much to resolve this one yet, just wanted to see if anyone else has come across it, anyway the problem is when opening a web page the mouse pointer slows down for a second or two, it's ok when downloading at any speed just web pages.

just tried it using mozilla and it's fine so it appears it's just internet explorer. anyone experienced this before?

no spyware/malware/adware

no virus/worms/trojans

no dodgy software running in background (except for xp, lol)

running of shared net connection over wireless (802.11b) network, was previously fine.

just thought, recently installed sp2, i'm pretty sure it was fine after installation, just the last few days.

it's not a biggie cos i'm reinstalling windows at weekend anyway, just curious if anyone else has had this issue and if there's a resolution.

xp pro sp2, PIII 866MHz, 512 SD RAM (more available upon request)

Cheers all

I've never seen this before, it does sound confusing! It sounds like some sort of 3rd party application is running that hogs resources for a few seconds (like a search bar for IE or something). I'm guessing AdAware picks up nothing?

Might just be "one of those things" that bugs us and would take weeks of probing to find! :D At least a format should fix it ;)

all clear as far as ad-aware is concerned, i had the same thought as you, just running spybot as well now, just in case as i find that spybot picks up the ones that ad-aware misses and vice versa.

i thinks it's related to sp2.

Did you defrag your drive? Maybe its gotten fragmented so files take longer to load thus slowing machine down and making the mouse a lil slow.

Have you installed any mouse software? If so reinstall it.

or uninstall it if it worked ok without it.

Had some drivers for a USB wireless optical KB/Mouse set.

They only got annoying so got rid of them. Worked flawlessly.

just though i bet it's the KVM!

will try it tomorrow without and update.

cheers

KVM!!!!!!

I have one which really made my life difficult and I removed it from the system. Everythning works great.

I hope you solve your problem. I know KVM if they work fine are great but sometimes you have to compromise somewhere.
