Hi i've been having this problem for a while and i was wondering i f u could help. Whenever I click on the start menu or other menu it takes a while for it to appear. It's the same with the windows. The programs themselves run just fine. And sometimes the menus in the back turn red. I did system restore and it was working fine for a while but it just gets slow again as time goes by. I have a Dell in case that helps. I have run defrag and multiple scandisk and antivirus scans but I still haven't been able to solve this problem. Thanx for ur time

I've experienced and dealt with this issue for others, in my experiance the culprit is usually in the registry. It becomming bloated with entries that are not needed, or not removed with program uninstalls. I can recomend two methods of dealing with this
XP has a registry fix utility which may help
there are several registry cleaners available, check with such sites as 'downloads.com', 'cnet', for their offerings. there are several good 'freeware, and shareware offerings.

I also experiance slugy loading. it seems to be the same
as your problem. I have a cat name Dippy if that halps. I
will look for those programs, oh by the way, is there
anychance by using this program i could bugger other
progams up????

Hey its me again, i went to download.com and go the registry mechanic and it did repair 88 problems that i had but i dont think that was enough cuz the menus are still slow to appear, and it still takes a long time for programs like IE to open up. I havent tried your other suggestion of usin the registry fix utility from xp cuz to be honest i don t know how to access it. Could you plz tell me how to use XP to clean up the registry? or is there any other method or specific program i can download? thank you for your time...appreciate it a lo
