Slow logon

Logon procedure to our W2k Active Directory network works
extremely slow from one of our frame relay sites. It takes
one hour to logon to the network from about half of the
computers. Other half of identical computers work without
problems. On this UK site frame relay speed is 256kB and
there is no local domain controller. We have no problems
on any other site elsewhere in Europe. We have controlled
all network settings and router settings, but found
nothing different compared to other sites. What can I do
next????

Verify that the clients are pointing to a valid DNS server that holds the
SRV records for the domain controllers of your domain. Do the users have
roaming profiles, logon scripts or home directories? You may want to enable
userenv logging on one of the clients and have then logon. Review the log
and you may see time gaps that will help narrow the issue down. I have seen
scripts cause this behavior. To enable userenv logging take a look at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;221833&Product=win2000 .

Slow logon can also occur if the kerberos packets are fragmented. You may
want to try the article below if that is the case
