Hi,

We have a win2k network. We have recently upgraded our
laptops to windows XP pro.

Since doing this, when users loginto their netwotk
profile it takes upwards of 15 minutes to load the
profile. On a win2k machine it takes about 15 seconds! Is
this an issue with group policy in win2k or the settings
in XP?

Any help or ideas would be great!

Make sure the NIC isn't set to autosense....lock it down to 10 or 100, full
or half duplex. Do the same on all servers and any managed switches.

Also, check the ipconfig/all. Does everything point to the server-IP,
especially DNS?

Ah, yes, that too! (duh)...:-)

You're forgiven Lanwench. It's almost impossible to keep track of all the
things you need to check....
