Slow Internet

Internet Explorer is extremely slow, so slow I'm having
difficuly getting anywhere without timing out. Once in
Hotmail I have to try several times before I can sign
out. I have deleted all cookies, temp files and
restarted, but does not help.

Have another question. In tools>options>advanced, I do
not have the option to check PCT 1.0 Do I need this and
if so how do I get it?

That is usually a function of the modem and internet connection, not
the browser. Have you updated your modem drivers and contacted your
ISP for suggestions?
 
Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.
