Slow internet?

It seems that The spyware beta is causing my internet
connect to be conciderably slower than normal, ex the
program out completly and gos back to normal speed anyone
have any ideas why it does this? (i've tried some
tinkering with the settings no luck, if no answer i will
just uninstall i would rather have faster internet than the
program.)
 
I think this is a bug. I believe that if you follow the instructions in the
workaround section of this KB article to disable real-time protection,
you'll be back up to speed:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892375 End users may be prompted to allow or
block administrative actions that originate from a central management tool
after they install Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) on a computer that is managed
by Systems Management Server 2003

However, you'll be forgoing a major part of the functionality of the
product.

I don't have any answers as to what the precise issue is. I've asked
whether, for example, folks seeing this issue have more than just Microsoft
Antispyware and the windows shell in the ShellExecuteHooks as seen via
tools, advanced tools, system explorers, and either they haven't, or they
don't have any system explorers, either!
