I got Comcast High Speed Internet 3 weeks ago and am using a brand new
Linksys BEFSR41 Router. When I am not using the router, and have the
cable modem connected directly to the computer, I get about 1700 Kbps
download. When I am using the router, I get around 300 Kbps download,
it does not matter if I have one or two computers hooked up to the
router it's always slow.
I also have a Linksys hub and tried that to see if it was the Router
that was the problem, and it was the same thing, slow speeds.
I've had Comcast over to my house three times, and everything is okay,
they've put a new modem in, did line tests, checked my LAN card and
they say everything should be working correctly, but its not when I
have it connected to a router or hub.
I figure that it has to be something with comcast, since I had the
same results with a router and a hub, that I knew worked. I previously
had Comcast before I moved across town and never had a problem using a
hub or router.
Thanks for your help.
