Slow Initial Response from Desktop Icons

I've recently installed EarthLink's Protection Control Center as well as
Total Access. I've also installed Nero 6.6 and various Christmas
Screensavers. I've removed the Screensavers and run various
Anti-Spy/Ad/Malware programs. Something is interfering with my desktop
icons launching their targets just after a boot. Any ideas? Once one of
them does launch then all is well. It's the initial launch that's taking
time.

Dump the dirtlink software. It sucks.
 
Looks like it's really only one game program called Championship Hearts from
DreamQuest. And it's definitely EarthLink's PCC that's interferring with
it's initial launch. I'll work with them. Question is will they work with
me! LOL!
