When I open a window that had icons in it (e.g. Folder Icons, Application
Icons, etc) why do they show as (what I would call) default placeholder icon
(same icon). I'm not sure what the icon is, but I think its the one that is
used by windows when it cant identify the icon type i.e. folder, .exe, .txt,
etc.
The default placeholder icon then proceeds SLOWLY to be replace with the
correct icons. Its most apparent when I open the Control Panel folder, as it
opens the icons are all the "placeholder" one, then it replaces them all
with the relevant (correct) icons...but slowly...over a second or two.
I'm saying this is all slow as with a fast PC, and standard windows icons I
would expect them to show up instantly. Any thoughts?
I'm running XPPro SP2, 1GB PC2700 memory, disks are defragged ok, no spyware
or viruses.
