Ben
I have a Windows 2000 server network with multiple
Windows XP Professional clients. File sharing for the
most part is flawless and fast. There is one box
however, a new NAS from Dell, that I'm setting up public
folders and backup directories on. I have the public
folder as a maped drive in the network logon script.
When users attempt to use this drive it is extremely slow
but is sometimes immediate. Also, when going through the
run command it is slow, this way too, sometimes it works
immediately.
Netbios is disabled and it doesn't matter whether the
resolution is through IP or DNS. It is registered in
WINS. Network speed is fine, no excessive connections or
traffic. All Windows updates are on all machines,
including the clients.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
Thanks in advance!!
