Slow disconnect from internet - Dialup

Hi All

I have a very frustrating issue at the moment.

My problem is that i have a customers notebook Optima Centoris notebook with
a Conexant 56k AC-LINK modem. When they disconnect from the internet with
either the disconnect window or right clicking and disconnecting it takes
approx 1 minute for the machine to disconnect and the window to disappear.

Other than that the customer can view web pages fine and do everthing elso
fine.

I have tried replacing the dial up connection (re-entering it). Testing the
connection with another ISP. Running system restore points. Defrags,
installing a replacement modem driver. And still not luck.

Is anyone able to help me?

What scans have you done for malware, including the name and version of
the customer's antivirus program? What spyware removal tools have you
run? Scans should be done in Safe Mode.

I have ran Ad-Aware and Spybot - Search and Destroy, also the customer has
Norton Internet Security 2004 all with the latest updates. This has been
disabled to see whether that was causing it but to no avail.
