Slow directory change

When I am working in a Word document and wish to change
directories, e.g. "Save As", the amount of time elapsed
in changing the directory is about 40 seconds. This
seems a bit long. I have 512 RAM, an Athlon 2 Gig
processor and over 70% of my hard drive space is free.

These symptoms seem to occur in all office products.

Help me Mr. Wizard.

This could be a symptom of the Norton AntiVirus Office plugin, or having
inline autocomplete turned on in Internet Explorer.
