Hello Group
I am rather perplexed why my PC seems so slow in copying files from
the internet;
What I did whenever I surfed the web and have a fancy for a certain
information, I select, and copy to Word document.(plain HTML form)
What surprises me is the computer seems to hang for nearly 2 minutes
and sometimes even more.!
I would like to know what is the possible cause for this
inefficiency. or is this considered normal?
AFAIK in the past PCs does not lag on copying files.to Microsoft word.
TIA

Thanks for your reply....
So you imply that its normal for such things that Word is really
slow...that I have to install a Macro.....
This reminds me of a related problem how come a Macro for PDF creation
just becomes inactive whenever I click it to convert Word Documents
to PDF
and never been able to sort his out.
As you seem to be an expert on Macro....I would like to know if there
is a turnaround for this.....
TIA

It can be normal. I believe the insertion resolves all the links on the page
which can take a long time, hence pasting as text resolves the issue.

Which version of Word which PDF application and what is the content of the
macro? If this is a macro placed by an Acrobat add-in, then assuming that
you have the correct version of the add-in for your version of Word, repair
Acrobat.

To explain .
I had installed a commercial PDF converter and Creator from Scansoft
which was PDF professional version 3. It had the capability to create
PDF from any Microsoft applications as well as convert PDF back to
Word Format.
It had a macro placed on the toolbars
which are CreatepDF, Create PDF and sent as mail. PDF converter in
Microsoft Word, EXcel and Powerpoint. It had even its PDF creating
utility in the OE and MOE.
When ever I need to use this facilities I just click on the macro for
a particular application. It had also a direct way of converting
micrsoft document files to PDF by using the printer icon.
Lately I can't use the Macro Create PDF in the Microsoft word; PDF
creation only works if I use the printer icon. However its working
perfectly in Excel and Powerpoint
This means that the PDF create Macro in Microsoft word accidentally
inactivated which I have difficulty repairing .
I was trying to trace the cause of the fault and can only think that
the occasional pop up when I closed the Word document which had
something to do with normal template...Maybe I had accidentally
adjusted the settings by not saving the file in normal dot? I am not
sure about that....
I was hoping that somebody that are experts of macros have a turn
around for such .....
Any ideas?
TIA
Roy
