slow copy speeds

I have 2 pc's that are identical and when I copy a music
cd to the media library on one it copies really fast but
when I copy to the other it is very slow. Is there
something the setup/settings that might be causing this?

No two PCs are identical... as each piece of hardware has separate IDs in
each.

However one PC may be running something in the background that the other
isn't. HP in particular install a piece of software called BackOffice. It
isn't needed.... it checks the HP website for updates. You can happily live
without it.

Check for other programs running in the background as well on the slower PC.
