Any help for the following problem would be appreciated. I have a Compaq
\Presario laptop computer with a newly installed Win xp pro on a new hard
drive. I have connected to Verizon DSL via the network and internet setup.
The problem I am having is that when I click the Verizon DSL icon on the
desk top, it takes an inpordinately long time for the prompt window to show
up so that I can click connect. Once I connect, browsing is OK, not slow.
The computer is a home not business unit. Does anyone know the reason for
the delay after clicking the DSL icon? Thanks

Are using Verizon DSL software to connect or the XP PPPOE ? The software
loading times might vary depending which program is used. Jym

I connected via the XP setup, not using Verizon software. I do have an older
computer with Win 95 connected via a Verizon disk and do not have any
problem.

Delete the connection and reinstall it. Jym
