slow computer

i have a really slow computer and i i have a cable modem and my comp. is only
4 days old whats goin on
 
over past few days about 4 people use this comp. in my house they download
music and games and chat stuff is that bad
 
Control Panel (Classic view) > Programs and Features.

Right click on the program and select "Uninstall".

very likely also gotten the computer infected.

I thought Vista was immune to that crap.

The OP should check for XP. If not found, load it.

It's immune in that crapware cannot install without the user's specific
consent and knowledge. No drive by installs on web sites or software
automatically executing from protected areas of memory. It cannot possibly
stop a user from intentionally installing something so they can download and
see "nekid piktours of Britt-ney" when they click "ok" to the warning about
knowing what they are installing.

Yeah, Vista can't possibly stop malware, but a free program like AVG or Avast can.
