Slow computer

Running XP and computer is so slow it's unusable. I've
checked performance in task manager & CPU usage is at
100%. I don't have any programs open and I've restarted
many times. Can anyone help?

press ctl-alt-del go to task manager, select processes, then click on the cpu column title so each process is listed in decending order of which is using the most cpu. write down the name of the process and post it here.

I am having the same problem. contol.exe is the culprit.
what to do?

I would imagine you certainly DON'T want that.
You'd better get adaware and SpyBot programs soonest.
Where to get them has been posted here many times.
