I have a network with XP pro and 98SE clients. On one XP
computer there is a directory with 3000 files in it. If
you access this directory with explorer from another XP
station it take 20 to 30 seconds to build directory in
the browser. Access the same directory from a win 98 SE
station and it is instantanous. Can you speed this access
up under XP?

Hi,

You might look at disabling the settings under Tools>>
Folder Options >> View (Tab)

Such as "Automatically search for network folders and
printers"

If that dosen't work. Maybe your looking at a network
issue a little further down the tree. Such as name
resoloution. Remember that XP uses DNS before it uses
NetBEUI.
