On a network with Win95 98 Win2K & NT4.0....
The NT4 and Win2K machines are very slow to browse peer to
peer shares on each other, but have no problem browsing
the shares on the Win 95/98 machines. I have moved our
shared CAD files from machine to machine to try to
identify which machine causes the slowdown. The problem
only occurs between the NT4 & Win2K machines. The win95/98
machines don't appear to have any of the same symptoms,
and the Win2K & NT4 machines have no problem if the shared
files are on a win95/98 machine.
The problem only appears to be when browsing for shared
files between the NT4/Win2k machines. Once the browsing
for data is complete... the files open quickly enough.
