Slow browser

I've recently upgraded to WinXP Pro SP2.
IE 6.0.2900
I find that when I open the browser to a new page, nothing is shown untill
the full page is completly downloaded.
I am only on a 56k modem, but I use to be able to see the page as it was
downloading all the images & text.
Now it shows a blank screen untill ALL is downloaded.
Is there an option I can use to change this?
