Hi all,
I have upgraded an A7V133 w/1333 to A7V8X-X w/2500 Barton, and have noticed
that it now takes a ridiculous amount of time to load WiXP.
Previously it would be at the desktop in about 30 seconds, with only 256MB
PC133 ram. Now it takes 120 seconds with 512MB 333 ram. I tried it with a
1700+ cpu and it made no difference. Is this "normal"?
I didn't do a format & reinstall of XP, just the repair on boot.
There don't seem to be any problems, except for the attempted upgrade of
nvidia drivers which was a debacle, but that another story :)

Is there a LAN adapter onboard? Is it set to "DHCP"?

There is a setting referring to that in amongst buttons for enabling tcp/ip
over netbios etc.
This is way beyond my level of understanding with regard to networking, so i
might just leave it all alone. At least everything works :)
Ta for the reply.

You need to do a reformat and reinstall of XP whenever you change
motherboards to avoid Registry errors. As you've seen.
