Hello All : I had to re install windows xp due to a harddrive failure .
Now when I restart the computer on boot up I have a delay or 1 minute
before everything loads in ?? Ideas , I have my network card disabled in
hardware ... Thanks ... Total

Network protocols frequently take a long while to time out so perhaps
something is still trying to access the network. Try looking at your network
connection settings.

.
Chances are that your new install is activating ALL your
programs. Disable them. Go to Start/Run/type MSCONFIG
and OK, click StartUp tab. Uncheck/disable everything
except your anti-virus program, if Norton, it will start
with NAV. Click Apply > OK and reboot. Now you have
a "lean, mean machine" and should boot in 20 seconds.
Disabling programs does not delete them only stops them
from using your PC resources.
