Does XP load up your COMPLETE "Documents and Settings" folder during
boot-up ?
I beleive it does - as I had about 5 Gigs of video data in my folder,
and XP choked during boot-up, saying "insufficient memory, loading
default profile", until I moved the 5 Gigs of video to another drive.

So, if you have a lot of 'stuff' in your documents and settings
folder, could that cause long boot-up times ????

Your scenerio is compelling but Windows isn't going to be doing anything
with your video files when you login.

"until I moved the 5 Gigs of video to another drive."

Perhaps the computer was running out of disk space on the C drive and this
is the cause of your error?

We need to have enough room for the pagefile or Windows will not start
correctly.

I think I had over 10 Gigs left on C drive at that time. (I've got 16
Gig now)

It actually gave me the same message today - when I have 16 Gigs left
on C, and only 2 Gigs in my profile ???
