Hi

Using xppro. since installing updates from windows
update (service pack 1 up to the latest security fixes
etc) my system is taking a minimum of 5 minutes to get
past the black 'windows xp' boot screen. There's no
hard drive/any other obvious system activity during this
time. After that 5 minutes - fine. No problems in
windows whatsoever.

I realise given the amount of updates it's difficult, but
is there an obvious answer to my problem? Is there a
patch known for causing this? It's not a hardware issue
as before i used windows update the boot screen only
lasted 3 seconds

Many thanks for any help!
