Hi,
My Win XP CD already has SP2, will it have to be slipstreamed to include all
the security updates I've installed to be useful for future repairs?
Thanks,
jll

You could just download the patches/updates to a CD-RW and run a batch
file to load them one after the other, that is what I do rather than
updateding the new machines over the net each time we get a new machine
in.

The batch file I use installs the files un attended one after the
other, a portion of the file is below:-
WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe /passive /norestart
WindowsXP-KB894391-x86-ENU.exe /passive /norestart
WindowsXP-KB891781-x86-ENU.exe /passive /norestart
WindowsXP-KB893066-v2-x86-ENU.exe /passive /norestart
WindowsXP-KB893086-x86-ENU.exe /passive /norestart

Just add the new update to the end of the list.

I then do a visit to the update site to see if there are updates that I
have not yet downloaded.

Many comments in these newsgroups that slipstreaming updates/patches/fixes
is not possible; only works on service packs.

If it can be done I'd like to know the procedure.

If you need to slipsteam hotfixes, patches, RAID drivers (the dreaded
F6 during install), insert your key (I hate typing that thing in) and
athrow in a few other tweaks, check this program out. Right price,
too.
