Howdy all,

XP Pro
80gig SATA existing

I want to add a second SATA hd. Is it just a matter of plugging it into the
SATA 2 header on the mb & Power, and then formatting? Or does it have to be
set as a slave like you have to do with the ribbon cable?

TNX,

Just plug and go, no jumpers. You will need to create a partition before
formatting using disk manager.

SATA drives connect to the motherboard/controller with individual
cables. All drives are handled as master, there are no master/slave
jumpers on SATA drives.
