I just got my laptop wiped and am a little confused as to how to get
my screen res back to where it used to be...all my photo look
'stretched' horizontally. My res is set at 1024 x 768 which is what *I
think* it was set at before the wipe. Any ideas on how to get back to
normal? Thanks in advance!

I doubt that you had it set on 1024x768 on
a laptop...LCD screens usually require a
higher resolution.

Check the manual for your Monitor and
look for the 'Native Resolution'...that setting
should allow your pix to display normally.

No, I double-checked-its 1024 x 768

Are you saying your laptop manual states the
native resolution for your LCD is 1024x768?

Ok...I guess...but if your images are stretched...
it indicates that you have a wide sccreen monitor
and the native resolution for that would not be
1024x768.

Have you experimented with all the different
resolutions you find in Display Properties?

Have you been to the support website of your
laptop's manufacturer and searched for updated
video drivers?

These days, laptops often have a "stretch to fit" setting. The way that this
is set or cleared may be peculiar to a specific make or model laptop.
1024x768 on a wide screan laptop "stretched to fit" is likely the users's
problem.
I'd be poking around in the video settings if I was trying to cure the
problem.
