On boot I keep getting this slightly annoying message

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0f: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
on something called the Intel Boot Agent which I didn't know I had. Is
there some way of configuring this please? I have tried googling it and
everyone seems to either have a problem with booting which I haven't got, or
needs to disable PXE in the BIOS which I don't seem to be able to do. (I CAN
change from PXE to something like rpl but this gives me even more spurious
error messages)

I DO have to go through LAN start in this BIOS and cant seem to put it after
the HDD, but I seem to suffer no real problems by having LAN in the boot
sequence? It doesn't seem to be slowing up the boot process significantly.
I just don't like being given a spurious error message telling me that
cable is unplugged when I know it isn't.

I really don't mind just ignoring it but is there a cure and does it have
any effect or slow anything down please?

If you do not have a manual for your motherboard, download one. Then use
the info in the manual to fix your boot order and boot options.
