Hi, it's me again. Still struggling with the music in my vacation
slideshows. I tried a tip I heard over here to put my mp3's and midi's along
with the shows on the cd, because they were linked files instead of embedded
files. Very logical I thought. I made a map 'audio' in my distribution
folder next to the map containing my slideshows, linked the files again en
burned the cd. Checked it out and guess what? Nope, again, no music. Really
getting desparate here. Is there no way I can get the viewer to find the
files and PLAY them???

Rebeccas,
I made a map 'audio' in my distribution
folder next to the map containing my slideshows
That's very organized. But it will not work when the stuff is put onto the CD.

You need to "embed" the sound files

Or put them in the same directory as your .ppt file BEFORE you insert them

Sounds like you're still not having any luck. I just completed a
Resume CD that has tons of pics and music, so thought I'd share the process
used in case it helps!

Insert all photos instead of linking them, Insert sounds and control them
through Custom Animation settings under Slide Show. I used a pretty
laborious process for this one: cut an .mp3 into 14 sections - one / slide
using MP3Direct Cut, then converted them with dMC music converter into .wav
files and chose the corresponding sound for each slide! The user controls
the advancement of slides, and the song section plays as soon as the slide
is opened.

Save a copy of .ppt and re-name with the extension .pps to open your work in
Show mode. (I burned to CD as well - the fonts, pics and music are okay on
computers I've tried it with so far...)

For one long track to play throughout, there's an add-in called Music Span
that may work for you, also.
