I'm trying to create a basic slideshow with an mp3 file playing in the
background. The song is about 3 minutes long but the picture's duration is
only 5 seconds each. How do I modify the duration of each picture so that the
slideshow fills up the length of the mp3 song?
Please advise.
Thanks in advance!

If you place your pointer on the edge of an image
in the timeline you will see a double red arrow.
Dragging the red arrow will change the duration...
you'll see a tool tip that shows the change.

Also...'before' you add images to the timeline...
you can change the duration by going to...
Tools / Options / Advanced tab / Picture Duration.

FWIW...mp3 files can cause issues...
it may be worth a try to convert the file
to .wmv or .wav if you have problems.

Thanks for your reply and tip about changing the duration prior to adding
pictures. One more question: If I burn this slideshow to a DVD, what
format/filetype should I select to make the DVD playable on any player? (the
pc I'm using now doesn't have a burner so it only appears to have a selection
to 'save to my computer' option.
Also, will the images in the slideshow be of 'acceptable' quality for
viewing on a video projector screen?

Thanks again.

Generally...save as 'DV-AVI' is recommended.
Here are some options: (Also...you will need
DVD Authoring software...Nero, Roxio, Ulead, etc...)

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Also, you may find it useful to use
a custom profile:

===========================================
Should be but who knows? If the quality is not
acceptable...you might try using a Custom Profile
as mentioned in the Saving info.
