slideshow gadgets problems

i am trying to select a picture folder to display in the slideshow gadget but
it is not working. the folder is not being accepted in the options of the
gadget. what do i do?
 
In the gadget, when you click on the wrench icon, it brings up a browse
window...
To the right is a "..." icon that you can then browse folders with,,,
can you get that far?

If yes then are you getting to a point where you cannot browse to the folder?
Is it greyed out or is there an error message?
Please give a step by step of what is not happening...

after i select the folder it does not appear in the selection and the
pictures are not displayed. its almost as if the gadget is a dud or a dummy
programmed to display the default pictures and nothing else!!

What's the path of the folder, perhaps it doesn't have
access permission.

If yes then are you getting to a point where you cannot browse to the
folder?
I'm having the same problem. No matter what folder you pick, the selection
doesn't show up in the folder field. All I get are the smaple pictures.
Also, you can check both of the check boxes but they don't make a difference
to the slideshow. Also, the "Show each picture" and the "Transition between
pictures" fields are blank, the boxes drop down but there's nothing there. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled the gaget but nothing works. I am hoping
there is a way to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of this gadget
because I really enjoyed it when it did work.
