Slides surrounded by a black fill border

When I give my slide presentation, the slides are surrounded by a black
border outside the entire slide. It's probably a simple fix, but I don't
know how to correct it. Does there have to be a color? If so, can I change
it from black? Can't I get the slide to fill the entire monitor space?

Thanks in advance.

If you're seeing black around all sides in an equal amount, you just need to
adjust the size of the image on the projector.

If it's letterboxed (that is, black on top and bottom), then you need to
change from 35mm page setup to On-Screen Show setup. Do that in PPT's
File/Page Setup.

As for the black color, this is a feature of the projector, although I've
not seen an LCD that has any other color. I did use a plasma screen recently
that gave me grey surround color when I set the slides to their actual size
instead of stretching them to fit the wide screen format.

Jeff,

I'm guessing you are using powerpoint 97 (possibley ppt 2000).

See

OfficeOne Full Show 97 1.0
Microsoft PowerPoint 97 slide shows don't utilize the entire screen. It leaves a black border of around the slide
show. Full Show 97 removes that border and makes the slide show run full screen. To use Full Show 97, follow the
instructions given below
