Is there a way/tool for synchronizing slide transitions to match key
beats in songs? Other than trial and error.
And what's the fastest transition that can occur: 1/16 notes? 1/8 notes?
1/4 notes? 1/2 notes? Whole notes?

P.S., Having a blast with my ppt projects thanks to this group!

Using PowerPoint you cannot time things exactly. Especially if presentation
will be displayed on other computers. Timing can be effected (affected ?) by
the process speed, number of apps running, etc., etc.

One solution is to move your presentation to Producer which is a free
extension to PowerPoint that does allow more precise timing (but runs
presentation through IE).

Sorry John,

There is no way to create a tight sync with audio from within PowerPoint.
In some cases, the sync can end up being off by *several* measures. There
are other products on the market (like Adobe Premiere) that will do this,
but they are rather expensive ( ~700 USD) and are limited to only doing a
video-with-audio type of presentation. They are not really slide shows, but
more like movies. Don't get me wrong, I hear they do an excellent job, but
I simply can't afford software like this.

You will also need to understand that even if you get your presentation
running perfect on your machine, it may not run perfect the next time, and
will almost definitely not run perfectly on any other machine.

Please take a moment of your time to let MS know that this is a feature that
you would like to see included in the next version of PowerPoint. That link

I sent in my wish. Who knows, maybe there really is a Santa Claus.
Imagine the extra power and emotional influence a slideshow could have
if slide transitions could be synced to specific musical beats/measures.
It would definitely have a place in presentations aimed at achieving
an emotional appeal.

You're preaching to the choir here. The slides are a bit out of synch when
