I'm working on a presentation in which I want to make a drastic change for
effect in the middle of the presentation. To do this I'm using two different
design templates. At the transition point I would like the last slide of
design #1 to slowly fade out as the first slide of design #2 slowly fades in.
However, I've not been able to accomplish this. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Hi

Select the first slide of design 2 then in the slide transition taskpane
select 'fade smoothly' or 'fade through black' and change speed to slow. Does
that achieve what you're after?

See you there

You might also try copy the first slide in slide sorter view. Paste Special
as a jpeg over the next slide and resize. Now give the jpeg a nice slow fade
exit.

O.k. We are making progess! That produces the effect I was looking for but
even at the slowest setting its too fast. Is there any way to allow for a
custom transition speed? The slowest standard is very slow (5 seconds). I'm
looking for more like 30 seconds. Is that possible?

Hi Lucy,
Please see my reply to John Wilson. The solution you provided works but the
transition, even at the lowest setting is much faster than what I was looking
for. Can you provide any additional guidance?

GOT IT. I found a technique called "3-D Transition" and was able to
accomplish what I was looking for. Thank "An Easier Tomorrow" and "John
Wilson" for putting me on the right track!

Hi You can also change the 5 seconds to any speed you like (up to hours if
you want!) Just type in the new figure
