Slide titles truncated

I am trying to send a list of slide titles to a text file using the macro
here: http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00332.htm).

I have succeeded with 3 out of 4 files. In one PPT, I get a text file that
lists slide index and title through slide 15. For slide 16 I get the slide
index and the first 21 characters of the slide title. I can see nothing
unusual in this particular title (no special characters).

I tried re-typing the title text - same result. I tried replacing the slide
title text box - same result. I tried deleting slide 16 so that what used to
be slide 17 is now slide 16 - same result. I also tried inserting a new slide
at position 16 - same result.

Are there any known issues that might cause this type of behavior? If
something in the PPT file has been corrupted, how might I find it or work
around it (troubleshooting tips)? Any other ideas at all?

What happens if you make slide 16 the first or second slide? Does the
process still truncate the title on the new slide 16, or does it truncate on
the original slide 16?

Same result. (When I move slide 16 to position 2, the list truncates at
character 21 of slide 16 (formerly known as slide 15.)

Why do you ask? What do you think might cause the list to be truncated on
the original slide 16 instead of the new slide 16? And what might cause the
list to be truncated at slide 16 regardless of what slide is in position 16?

Extra points for the very methodical way you've approached this.

Before going too much further, try powering down the PC and then restarting it.
Full power down and give it five or ten minutes before restarting.

I was trying to determine if it is an issue with the text on slide 16 or if
it is possibly some kind of limit to the number of characters or slides (or
something).

I realize you said you deleted slide 16, but I wondered if it would stop
things in its tracks if you moved that slide earlier in the file.

That's all.

Since it's still truncating at the new slide 16, it sounds like some kind of
limit to me, but what exactly, I've no idea.

Wonder if round-tripping through HTML would clear things up (as it often
does)? Here are instrux: http://www.pptworkbench.com/html/round_trip.htm
