Slide Timings - Wierd Problem

I have kinda a wierd problem. I have a slideshow that I
put timings into so that it would run itself. This show
also has music playing in the background as well as video
clips both with and without sound.

Here's the problem. Everything runs great until I get to
a slide with a video clip that has sound. At that point I
have it set to turn off the music so that we can hear the
sound on the video. This works fine and when the video is
done it advances to the next slide just like it should.
On the next slide the music starts back up just like it
should, but then the show sticks. The slide will not
change to the next automatically although it has the
timings set. Once I advance the slide manually by
clicking the show continues with its timings until it gets
to another video clip with sound and the same thing
happens. This does not happen after slides with video
clips that don't have any sound with them.

Does anyone have any clue how to fix this problem, because
I am baffled.

thanks.

How did you insert the videos and sounds? OS and PPT version?

I am using Office XP and Windows XP.

I inserted them using Insert -->Movies and Sounds then
from a file.

This is going to be a little complicated but here goes.

Are you using a standard video file (avi using the Cinepak codec or Indio
codec from Intel)? My guess is that you are not, and because the MCI player
can't handle the video PowerPoint is calling the Windows Media Player into
action. It sounds like it is in someway getting the *focus* until you click
somewhere on the slide and then PPT takes back over and runs as it should.

If they aren't huge ,can you email me one of the video files? (I am working
on solving some of these issues and the more information the better.)
