Is there a way when you are viewing the slide show, that you can go back to
the previous screen without having to restart the whole thing over?

Hit F1 on the keyboard while you're viewing the show. That will show you a
number of ways to back up.

Is that what you're after?

If you right click the slide during the slideshow and select help form the
popup menu it will give you all the recognized keystrokes you can use during
your slideshow

Note that all the keystrokes referred to will actually step back through
animations if you have them BEFORE going to the previous slide

If you put an action button (previous slide) on the master you will always
be able to go back a slide. OR right click and use goto slide OR if you know
the slide number of the previous slide type that number and then enter.

Did that answer the question / help?
