slide show on TV/CD

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a CD (not DVD) that can
play an endless loop of images or a slide show, with music through a
DVD player to a TV? I believe the CD itself is called a video CD and
many modern DVD players attached to a TV can play them, but how is the
software on the CD created? Is there any freeware that can do that?

There's no "software" on a Video CD, just compressed Video files.

If you want it to play in an endless loop, just make sure your DVD player
can be programmed to do that.

Why not try Photo2VCD Studio? It has a nice slideshow on TV with music.
And you have nearly 150 transition effects and menu templates. It is
very easy to use, and it's not freeware. But it's very inexpensive. A
free trial is available from http://www.photo2vcd.com
