Hi
Am making a slide show with transitions and background music, using movie maker 2, got 4,000 still photos scanned, estimate will need at least 6 or 7 cd's. am therefore considering going burn the whole project onto DVD's. got the dvd HD writer +r/+rw. now considering which would be the best software to purchase
Would appreciate any advice anyone can offer with regard to suitable software and guide lines to follow
I am particularly interested in "sonic mydvd" as this appears to be compatible movie maker 2. (must keep an eye one the though
Many thanks in anticipation............
Regard
harryh.

Sonic is popular with MM2 users, I've not used it myself. But others to
think on would be, DVDlabs, TMPG dvdauthor, Ulead do a couple, then you can
get other integrated apps, like studio 9 and Photodex do ProShowGold, which
is for making slideshows and their latest version will encode direct to dvd,
it allows for panning and zooming on stills, so worth a look.

Hi,
Thanks for your help, looked through all your suggestions, it would appear that "Pro Show Gold 2 " looks like the best bet so far...........am awaiting confirmation from Photodex, ( the software makers of Pro show gold)

Once again thank you

Hi Graham

In your reply to the above subject (5/14/2004), you referred to Studio 9 & Photodex Pro Show Gold as INTERGRATED APPS
could you please explain, why you referred to these software programs as such. Am I correct in my assumption, that they may be more suitable, for my applicatio

Harryh,

As integrated I meant you can get from start to finish by just using the
same application. With MM2 if you want to make a dvd you need a second
programme, whereas with PSG you can do it all in one. Some people prefer it
this way and will work with just that one piece of software, others prefer
to do some work in one programme, import this to another and do some more
work on it and then on to a third say to author the dvd and output your
disc.
You may not have the time or inclination to learn more than one programme,
so PSG would be good, you may like the way MM2 works and prepare your
slideshow here and then just putput it to say TMPGenc to make your dvd.

Choices choices, we have too many of them :)
