slide Show advice

News

I read all the previous messages on slide shows however they don't seem to
address my request.

I have an existing Front Page created page that displays some text and a
photo gallery in "Slide Show Format".

The thumbs display in an enlarged photo directly below the slides. I have a
third party slide show that creates

an swf file which is linked to its own created web page. To play the program
I created a link to the "new" web page

which causes the show to play in the "new" page. What I would like to do is
when I click on the link to the "new" page

it will open in the same size and place that the Photo Gallery slide show
uses in the Front Page's web page. A page

Within a page as it where. Is this possible? If so how is it done?

Thank you Chris,

I got the popup to work. However I need some more assistance. When I play
the slide show in the other format it does not Loop. In the popup program it
does. Is there a way that I can tell it not to loop and also it would be
nice if I could tell the popup to close once the slide show ends. Is that
possible?

Again many thanks

if you're using fp 2003 and want to learn about layers and behaviors it
would be possible.
you could also learn about dynamic hypertext like; writing JavaScript to
manipulate .css and so on.

how do you mean it used to loop and now doesn't? show me this page (url).

Chris,

The current process is on Http://www.forbes-kindred.com/barbara.htm . When
you click on "Barbara's Slides" It does NOT loop. When it stops I have to
use the back arrow to return to the original page.

I got the popup to work, but I haven't saved it yet. When the slide show
plays in the pop up it DOES loop.

As a side note I have FP2002 (Windows 98se) at the house and FP2003 (Windows
xp pro) at the ranch.

Thanks.

so how do you want to do it, pop-up or whole page and loop or not loop?

I've lost track of what the problem is . ;-)

Chris,

I know what you mean. I really appreciate your help. I want to use the
popup, NO loop, and have the popup close when the slide show ends. (if
that's possible.)

Thanks,

Bob

closing the pop-up when the movie is done would be difficult. there's a way
to close a window by just clicking it though. I don't have it at hand but I
think Steve Easton posted it to this group so you'll want to search this
group by author or wait and see if he posts it again to this thread. ;-)

as for the movie, you'll have to look at how the movie is put on the page
and look for the loop parameter and modify. or go to www.jimcoaddins.com
and get a copy of flasher. he's got it rigged so you can set parameters
through a dialog box.

Chris,

Thanks. I went to Jimco web site and sent an email question on the subject.
I will also try his "flasher" as well. If I can get the program not to loop
I can use the popup and I suppose I can have the viewer just hit the exit
button on the right side of the screen. In the mean time I will post a
request to Steve to see if he will respond.

Sincerely,

Bob
